Zbigniew Jagiełło – the originator and one of the co-creators of the mobile payment system – was appointed to the supervisory board of the Polish Payment Standard (PSP) – the operator of the BLIK system – the company said.
“The supervisory board actively participates in the work on the development of BLIK – a mobile payment system unique in the world. Joining Zbigniew Jagiełło to the board is a serious support. We are convinced that his practical experience, knowledge and initiative will help us in the further development of the system and its expansion abroad “- said president Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, quoted in the press release.
The supervisory board is composed of representatives of the 6 founding banks of PSP and Mastercard – the company’s shareholders. Currently, this group has been joined – as an independent member and expert – by Zbigniew Jagiełło, also given.
Zbigniew Jagiełło has been involved in banking and finance for over twenty-five years. For the last 12 years he was the president of the management board of PKO Bank Polski. He is the originator and co-creator of the BLIK mobile payment system. The system was created on the basis of the IKO solution created by PKO BP as part of the world-unique model of cooperation between the largest banks that have decided to build a common, uniform solution for mobile banking customers.
The shareholders of PSP are: Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski and Mastercard. BLIK can also be used by customers of Getin Bank, Bank Pekao, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, Inteligo, Nest Bank, Bank Pocztowy and cooperative banks associated in Spółdzielcza Grupa Bankowa, Bank BPS and cooperative banks of the BPS Group.
