Wrocław has been a leader in the BPO/SSC industry in Poland for many years and therefore has well-educated professionals. This applies to both lower-level employees needed to handle less demanding processes, as well as staff with more experience. The key is, however, access to graduates of technical universities with proficient English, which is one of the competitive advantages of the city. Wrocław was also recognized as the second best location for running a business in the ranking of European cities of the Future 2018/19 developed by fDi Intelligence – Financial Times branch.
Michał Grabikowski, Cresa Polska: Wrocław has a significant educational potential. Currently, the region is ranked 3rd in Poland (after Warsaw and Krakow) in terms of the number of students studying at the most-valued directions (Information Technology, Science and Technology), which educates over 30,500 students (23.4% of all students in the region). That is why so many companies from the BPO/SSC sector (accounting and financial services, HR and IT), as well as more and more startups and small local entities decide to open branches in this city. This translates into the dynamic development of the office market, which has more than doubled over the past five years, and prospects for the coming years are even more promising.
The latest report, “Activity of Professionals and Managers in the Labor Market in Poland,” shows that Wrocław is the city most willingly chosen by managers to relocate. It was also recognized as the best city for work and life by expats. Employers encourage IT specialists to change their place of residence, offering subsidies for renting a flat or pre-school care.
Two areas of concentration of office space begin to be distinguished on the map of Wrocław. These are the vicinity of the Main Railway Station (Central Business Area) and the vicinity of Legnicka and Strzegomska Streets (West Business Area). The center has the largest number of new office buildings, including Wroclaw 101, Komandorska 12, Wroclavia, Sagittarius Business House, Retro Office House and City Forum. Investments in construction in the second Wroclaw area of concentration of office space are Business Garden Wrocław, Cu Office, Diamentum Office and Carbon Tower.
