The project of the Creotech consortium called with quantum communications has a contract for EU funding

Creotech Instruments has signed a contract for the implementation of the project entitled “European, Certifiable, Affordable, User-oriented, Secure, Integration-able, Scalable quantum key distribution solutions”, submitted under the Digital Europe Program of the European Commission implemented as part of Horizon Europe, the company announced. The project will last 30 months, the total budget is approximately EUR 7 million, of which approximately EUR 4.2 million is allocated to the company and 75% is financed from European funds.


The project is part of the European initiative EuroQCI supporting the development of competences, products and infrastructure for quantum communication. The aim of the project is to develop, validate, certify and obtain the possibility of serial production by the company of technologically mature, advanced Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems.

The project is scheduled to start on March 1, 2023. After the research and development work is completed, Creotech Instruments plans to implement the project results into its own serial production. The implementation of the project will enable the company to enter the dynamically growing market of security systems based on quantum key distribution.

Creotech Instruments is the largest Polish company that produces and supplies space technologies and specialized electronics and apparatus to the global market, including for the needs of quantum computers, quantum cryptography or laboratories of quantum physics and high energy. The company debuted on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange in July 2022, moving from the NewConnect market.
