President moves to compensate for state of emergency losses

President Andrzej Duda signed the law on compensation in connection with the introduction of a state of emergency in part of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and part of the Lublin Voivodeship in 2021, the President’s Chancellery informed. The state of emergency has been in force since the beginning of September on a 3 km border strip in 115 towns of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and 68 towns of the Lubelskie Voivodeship.
“The purpose of the act is to introduce a legal basis for the payment of compensation to service providers most severely affected by restrictions in the areas covered by the state of emergency in part of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and part of the Lubelskie Voivodeship” – reads the release.

The Act provides for the possibility of receiving compensation from the state budget for the period of the state of emergency by:

entrepreneurs and farmers providing hotel services,
entrepreneurs running a business in the field of gastronomy,
entrepreneurs operating a tour operator or entity facilitating linked travel arrangements,
entrepreneurs operating as a tour leader or tourist guide,
entrepreneurs operating in the field of rental and lease of tourist and recreational equipment,
in a state of emergency.

Compensation for the period of 30 days of the state of emergency is granted in the amount of 65% of the applicant’s average monthly income from the economic activity conducted by him, in the area covering the precincts listed in the annex to the regulation, in the period including June, July and August 2021.
