The modernization and deepening of the Świnoujście – Szczecin fairway to 12.5 m will be a milestone in the development of both ports. This investment is accompanied by a number of additional projects that will prepare the ports to receive up to twice as many loads as today, and this in turn will accelerate the development of the entire region. “One job in the port generates three to eight in its vicinity”, says Monika Woźniak-Lewandowska, spokeswoman for the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority. The investments are to be completed in 2023 and amount to over PLN 1 billion.
“The pandemic did not adversely affect the investment processes in the Szczecin and Świnoujście port complex. On the contrary, the investments that have been talked about for years are now being implemented. The modernization and deepening of the Świnoujście – Szczecin fairway to a technical depth of 12.5 meters is coming to an end. This is an absolute milestone in port development. (…)” – said Woźniak-Lewandowska.
