PGNiG Supply & Trading has concluded a charter agreement for two tankers for the transport of liquefied natural gas. The units will be built specifically for the needs of the PGNiG Group and will enter service in the first half of 2024.
PGNiG Supply & Trading (PST) with the PGNiG Group and Knutsen OAS Shipping have signed an agreement for the charter of two LNG tankers. Each of the units will have a capacity of approx. 174,000 m3. PST will be their sole user for 10 years with the possibility of extension.
“We are consistently developing PGNiG’s position on the international LNG market. The chartering of tankers is an important step in implementing our plans in this regard. This is the optimal solution, ensuring the certainty and flexibility of logistics operations, which are an important element in building a competitive advantage” – said Paweł Majewski, President of the Management Board of PGNiG SA.
The gas carriers, which are the subject of the contract that has just been signed, are yet to be built. The planned date of putting the ships into service is 2024.
