The Orlen Group takes over 25 petrol stations in Slovakia, it will have 47 in total

The Orlen Group has signed an agreement to take over 25 stations in Slovakia, PKN Orlen reported. As a result, the number of the concern's stations in Slovakia will increase to 47 outlets, and Orlen will be among the five largest operators on this market. The new stations will be located throughout Slovakia, incl. in Bratislava or Košice. The maintenance-free facilities will operate under the Orlen Express brand.
“We are consistently implementing the strategy of the Orlen Group, investing in the dynamic development of the fuel station network not only in Poland, but also in the region. Slovakia is one of the strategic and natural directions in this area. 

Investments in a network of petrol stations abroad are an important element in strengthening the international recognition of the Orlen brand, but also its business position. Especially that we already have a 14.5% share in the wholesale market in Slovakia. In addition, after the merger with the Lotos Group is finalized, 41 more stations in this country will be added to our network, and thus we will consolidate the strong position of the Orlen Group on the market. In the near future, we are planning further investments in the region and we assume the acquisition of another 100 fuel stations, ”said President Daniel Obajtek, quoted in the press release.

When all the announced acquisition plans are implemented, a total of 88 fuel stations in Slovakia will operate within the Orlen Group. In total, by the end of 2030, at least 3.5 thousand sq m will operate under the Orlen brand in the Central and Eastern Europe region. stations, including the share of foreign stations in the entire network, are to increase from 37% to 45%, summarized.

The PKN Orlen Group manages six refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, and is also active in Poland and Canada. Its consolidated sales revenues reached PLN 131.5 billion in 2021. The company has been listed on the WSE since 1999.
