Support for Poland’s opposition of Nord Stream growing

More and more EU countries support Poland in its stand against the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline between Russia and Germany.

Following a recent meeting of ambassadors of the bloc’s member states, 19 countries are of the opinion that technical discussions have been exhausted and the issue should now be taken to a political level.

“The investment is perceived not as the problem of a single country, but as a regional problem,” said Poland’s Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski.
