Sunex’s capital expenditure will amount to approximately PLN 45 million in 2024, the company announced. Nearly 80% of this amount will be allocated to the implementation of the project of composite tanks compatible with heat pumps and carbon fiber tanks used for hydrogen storage. For the rest of the sum, he will expand the infrastructure and renovate the hall.
Sunex intends to be the first manufacturer in Europe of innovative composite tanks, which are an economic and ecological alternative to this type of steel devices.
“These types of tanks, made of materials that are more durable and lighter than steel, can be an alternative to steel tanks used in heating installations and – what is very important – they can be intended for storing hydrogen, storing surplus energy from photovoltaic installations and other renewable energy sources. They could be used, for example, as an energy source for heat pumps. Today, people who produce green energy are often unable to use it or sell it at a favorable price, so it is very important to develop energy storage options so that it can be stored profitably over a longer period of time than a few days,” said president Romuald Kalyciok, quoted in the release. .
The project implemented by Sunex’s R&D department with a total value of approximately PLN 45 million, currently in the initial investment phase, on which PLN 10 million was spent, is a response to the trends of growing demand for renewable energy solutions in the energy and heating sectors, as well as housing construction, marked.
The company will carry out, among others: industrial research, development work, will build a transformer station and technological ventilation of the production hall, and will purchase means to start industrial production. SUnex is applying for project funding from the National Center for Research and Development (application submitted in July 2023). The funding award is expected in the first quarter of 2024, and the new product is scheduled to enter the market in 2025.
“Due to the dynamic development and planned further projects, we are looking for educated specialists in the field of, among others: hydrogen and composite technologies, as well as designers and constructors with experience in heating installations and devices,” added Marek Kossmann, financial director and member of the management board.
Sunex is a manufacturer of innovative solutions based on renewable energy sources. The company was established in 2002 in Racibórz. It offers, among others: heat pumps, solar collectors, thermosyphons, assembly systems, connection systems, tanks, pump groups, heat exchange stations, solar regulators. It debuted on the WSE main market in 2015, moving from the NewConnect market.
