UK solar and energy storage developer Pathfinder Clean Energy (PACE) has created a business in Poland for the development of solar farms and the acquisition of projects, starting with a 100-MWp pipeline.
PACE Poland will co-ordinate its projects and deals from its office in Torun.
“We consider Poland as a core market for growth as the country reduces its reliance on coal generation and renewables becomes increasingly competitive,” managing director Rob Denman commented.
The initial pipeline of early-stage projects, which are located in north Poland, is the result of 18 months of market and technical analysis of the local market. Depending on securing financing and planning, the first projects are expected to be online in 2022.
Including Poland, PACE has presence in four markets and an existing pipeline of over 1 GW in total. The company’s first projects in the UK, with a capacity of 67 MWp, are expected to be commissioned this year.
