SK Hi-Tech Battery Materials Poland has bought 30 ha of land in Dąbrowa Górnicza. The notarial deed of purchase of over 30 ha of land was concluded on May 25 between the city and the investor. Investment plots were sold for over PLN 30.8 million. A factory of lithium-ion battery separators used in electric cars will be expanded there. SK Hi-Tech Battery Materials Poland, a company belonging to the Korean concern SK Innovation, plans to start construction in the third quarter of this year. Production is expected to start at the end of 2023.
This is the next stage of the company’s investment in Dąbrowa Górnicza. In 2019, the company purchased, also in Tucznawa, nearly 26 ha for the construction of the plant. Production there is expected to start in the second half of 2021. At this stage, the concern intends to employ about 300 people. Ultimately, approximately 1,000 people may find employment in all factories.
