Shoper counts on record results in 2023 with single-digit growth in the e-commerce market

The shoper, which recorded two record-breaking quarters in its history (Q4 2022 and Q1, 2023), hopes that the entire year 2023 will also be record-breaking in terms of financial results, CEO Marcin Kuśmierz announced. In his opinion, the growth dynamics of the entire e-commerce market this year may be single-digit.

“We will fight for new records and, looking at the results of the first quarter, we remain optimistic about the development in the following quarters and throughout 2023. The market environment is and will remain unfavorable in the coming months, but looking at our operations and the last quarters, we are convinced that we have a good recipe for it. We know how to keep costs in check and, looking at the whole of 2023, we are convinced that it will be record-breaking,” said Kuśmierz during the teleconference.

The CEO also announced an increase in the EBITDA margin in 2023 and informed that the expected growth dynamics of GMV (gross value of goods sold on the Shoper platform) will be twice as high as the market dynamics, the dynamics of revenues will be at least twice as high as the dynamics of GMV, and the take rate ( i.e. the average commission on sales) will improve due to the rapid growth of ARPU. When it comes to costs, he also pointed to the continuation of automation and optimization of business processes.

“We estimate that by the end of Q2 the employment in the entire group will amount to 340 employees, but we approach team management and development with great attention and prudence due to the macroeconomic situation, therefore employment in the next quarter will include sales-related segments” – added HR Director (CPO) Anna Miśko.
