For a decade before the coronavirus pandemic, San Antonio-based 6Connex built a platform for companies and organizations to hold online conventions, trade shows and training events, and to stream town hall meetings.
Since the onset of COVID-19, the company’s growth has exploded, driven largely by insurance, medical and human resource firms looking to share information without the health risk of corralling employees in the same room.
As conventions and large meetings slowly return, many of them are expected to use hybrid formats, with some sessions held in-person and others online.
6Connex said this week it has acquired Eventory, a Poland-based management platform that will help with the transition to more hybrid meetings. The privately held companies did not disclose terms of the acquisition.
“You’re building features to address the hybrid experience,” 6Connex CEO Ruben Castaño said in an interview Tuesday. “What Eventory allows us to do is propel ourselves closer to the solution.”
The pandemic, Castaño said, has been a period of “digital transformation.”
