“European energy companies, solar PV and wind farms will be able to improve their efficiency by using European Energy Storage Systems (ESS). This will be possible thanks to the partnership established by Pozbud and Elmodis with Durapower – a Singapore-based company specializing in the production of lightweight lithium-ion batteries for container ESS solutions.
The established cooperation gives strategic partners Pozbud and Elmodis the opportunity to create inexpensive ESS container products of European origin under the Durapower brand. The parties assume that the plant will start operating in stages, aiming at the annual target production capacity of up to 2 GWh of produced batteries.
The strategic partnership formalises the established cooperation and strengthens the existing relationship between Durapower, Pozbud and Elmodis at both strategic and operational levels, focusing on the production and supply of lithium-ion batteries for use in container energy storage systems. The aim is to contribute to reducing emissions in the European region from current levels to 20% by 2050, with the aim of achieving net zero emissions as soon as possible, it also said.
“We are excited to open up Europe to an alternative energy source and develop the local supply chain through a new production facility. Optimization of energy costs (sales and / or purchase) and guaranteeing quality parameters and security of supply continuity are the basic benefits provided by energy storage systems (ESS), said president of Pozbud, Łukasz Fojt.
