Poland, US to sign agreement on scientific and technical collaboration

Polish and US representatives are to sign an agreement on bilateral scientific and technical collaboration in Washington D.C on Monday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin along with the entrepreneurship minister and health ministry representatives are to hold talks on collaboration within the fields of research and economy.

The Polish delegates will meet senior State Department officials, congressmen, ambassadors and business representatives.

The science and health ministries are to focus on issues related to medicine and biotechnology as well as Polish-US projects in oncological research. Talks are also to touch on Poland’s plans for domestic companies to expand into the US market.

During his visit, Gowin is to travel to Washington D.C., New York, Richmond and Houston, starting with a meeting with US-based Polish academics on Monday.

He will also take part in the opening of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, recently announced by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Ambassador Paul Jones. (aba)
