Poland to accelerate investment in broadband projects, schools network

The Polish government has introduced new anti-crisis measures to support the economy in various fields, including the ICT sector, according to the statement from the Ministry of Digitalisation. These include setting up a Broadband Fund this year, a year earlier than previously planned. The fund will be used to support telecommunications projects in areas where operators don’t invest.

In addition, implementation of the National Educational Network (OSE) will be accelerated. The programme has focused to date on connecting school buildings to the internet. In future, more attention will be paid to the remote connection of teachers and pupils.

In addition, all mobile internet users will be able to access government web resources without paying for the data traffic.
