Poland among Europe’s top investment destinations

Poland ranked third in Europe in terms of the total value of foreign direct investment projects launched in 2017, after the UK and Russia, according to fDi Markets, a crossborder investment analysis department from the Financial Times.

The influx of foreign direct investment totalled USD 14.8 billion in Poland, growing 49 percent compared to 2016.

The UK came first in the ranking, with foreign direct investment projects launched in 2017 totalling USD 33.2 bn, followed by Russia, with USD 15.9 bn.

New foreign direct investment projects generated 87,000 new jobs in Poland.

According to experts cited by the Rzeczpospolita daily, the hike in foreign direct investment projects in Poland is an outcome of a favourable economic situation in Europe.

“We have been expecting such record results,” said Tomasz Pisula, head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).
