Poland 9th in global honey production

Poland ranks 9th in terms of global honey production. The country is 8th among global honey importers and at the same time 13th place in the list of exporters of the product. This is according to BGŻ BNP Paribas analysis.

According to the estimates of the European Commission, 600,000 Beekeepers and 16 million beehives across the EU each year produce 200,000 metric tonnes of honey. The leader in the global production of honey is China with a 28 percent share.

The total value of Polish honey exports in 2017 amounted to EUR 35.9 million (an increase of 18.3 percent y/y), while the value of imports to Poland amounted to EUR 47.6 million (up by 12 percent y/y)
