PKO BP and NFOŚiGW started cooperation in the field of ecological projects

PKO Bank Polski and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) signed an agreement on financing pro-ecological solutions for individual and corporate clients, the bank announced. One of the objectives of the agreement is to provide financing by the bank for projects co-financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, including related to thermal modernization and support for natural persons in getting out of energy poverty.

“PKO Bank Polski wants to develop in an even more sustainable way – this is one of the pillars we focus on in our strategy for 2023-2025 ‘Prepared for challenges, focused on the future’. We have implemented a policy of renewable energy sources, recently increased the value of green financing and we are involved in green projects. Signing an agreement with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management is another step in the implementation of pro-ecological solutions. As part of the agreement, we will work out ways to support projects co-financed by the Fund for both individual and corporate clients. It will be a real help for people coming out of energy poverty,” said Paweł Gruza, vice-president of PKO BP who heads the work of the management board, quoted in the release.

The agreement signed by PKO BP and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEPWM) is based on three main assumptions: developing a model of cooperation in the area of financing by the bank for projects co-financed by the Fund, issuing green bonds and joint financing of solutions related to thermal modernization and supporting individuals in overcoming energy poverty , underlined.
