PKN Orlen is not planning to limit the production of fertilizers by Anwil due to high prices of natural gas, announced CEO Daniel Obajtek.
“We are analyzing various variants, but my position is not to reduce the production of fertilizers, because then, apart from these high gas prices, the demand will increase excessively. We will try to maintain the minimum level of margins to maintain the market. We are well aware that the shutdown of the plant would not be appropriate, as the import of fertilizers from the East would increase, ”Obajtek told reporters in Lithuania.
He stressed that in such a case there would be a risk of a permanent loss of market share.
