Photon Energy commissioned 3 PV power plants in Romania with a capacity of 6.0 MWp and has a total of 103 MWp

Photon Energy Engineering Romania from the Photon Energy group has completed the implementation and connected to the grid three photovoltaic power plants near the town of Calafat in the Romanian Dolj county. The total generation capacity of the new installations is 6 MWp, and the annual energy production in the three commissioned power plants will amount to approximately 9.6 GWh, the company announced. Worldwide, the company currently owns and operates 92 power plants with a total capacity of 103.6 MWp.

The high-efficiency bi-facial photovoltaic modules installed on single-axis trackers will generate and feed into the grid managed by Distribuie Energie Oltenia approximately 9.6 GWh of renewable energy per year. Energy generated in power plants will be sold on market terms, i.e. outside the support system and without an agreement with the end user. Revenues from the sale of energy from new installations estimated on the basis of forward contracts (base load) on the Romanian market should reach EUR 1.4 million over the next 12 months, it was emphasized.

“We are happy to launch three more power plants in Romania, one of our key markets in Central and Eastern Europe. This fits in with our strategy of systematic growth in recurring revenues from clean electricity generation. The energization of the installation in Calafat is an important step in the process of launching our first eight power plants in Romania with a total capacity of 31.5 MWp, for which we recently obtained project financing. At the same time, we are pleased that the total installed capacity of our portfolio of own power plants (IPP) has exceeded the level of 100 MWp,” said Georg Hotar, EO Photon Energy Group, quoted in the release.

Photon Energy Engineering Romania deals with the design and construction of photovoltaic installations (EPC services).
