PGE and Javelin Joint Venture concluded an agreement regarding the production of the Javelin system in Poland

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) and Javelin Joint Venture (JJV) – a company of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin – concluded an agreement (MoU) regarding the production of the Javelin anti-tank system in Poland, the companies said.

“Poland sees Javelin Joint Venture as a key partner, and today’s agreement further strengthens our relationship with both Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. […] Our discussions and decisions that led to the conclusion of this agreement show the potential for fruitful, long-term cooperation,” said Sebastian Chwałek, President of PGZ, quoted in the release.

In order to support the growing current and future demand resulting from growing concerns about regional security in Europe, PGZ and JJV signed a MoU to explore the possibility of establishing a final assembly and component production facility in Poland. This agreement will stabilize future production of the Javelin system for the U.S. military while providing unique opportunities for Polish industry.

“Together with PGZ, we are exploring a number of opportunities to use the skills and knowledge of Polish industry to jointly produce Javelin,” said Javelin Joint Venture President and Raytheon Javelin Program Director Andy Amaro.

“With growing demand for this system, our new industrial partners can play a vital role in supporting the production and delivery of this battle-proven fire-and-forget weapon to users around the globe,” he added.

The Javelin is developed and manufactured by JJV, a company owned by Raytheon in Tucson, Arizona, and Lockheed Martin in Orlando, Florida. To date, JJV has produced over 50,000 Javelin missiles and over 12,000 targeting modules with reusable controls. Javelin is currently used in 23 countries, and Poland is the first foreign customer to acquire the Javelin system in the “F” variant, as indicated in the material.
