Pesa Bydgoszcz on a roll, delivers 30 trams to Slovakia

The Slovakian Kosice has concluded a tender for the supply of up to 30 trams, commissioning the delivery to Pesa Bydgoszcz, the manufacturer said. For Pesa, winning the tender means expansion to another European market.

So far, the company has delivered trams to Hungary (Szeged), Russia (Moscow, Kaliningrad), Romania (Cluj) and Ukraine (Kiev). It also signed a contract for the supply of trams for Romanian city of Iasi and won a tender in another Romanian city – Craiova; and Sofia. In total, Pesa has so far delivered over 170 trams to foreign customers and over 600 for Polish cities.

“The tenders won in Romanian Iasi and Craiova and in Slovak Kosice are the result of a consistently implemented strategy that assumes increasing our presence on foreign markets. With exports in mind, we are also working on a new generation of trams designed specifically for European markets, said Marcin Grzyb, sales director.
