Polish entrepreneurs signed, with the help of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), 333 export contracts worth over PLN 113 million in the first half of 2023, the agency reported. The largest contracts have been concluded with companies representing the food, machine, yacht, construction and heavy industry industries.
Comparing the first half of 2022 with 2023, the Agency emphasized that it recorded significant increases. The number of signed export contracts increased by 70%, and the Agency received 28% more inquiries. A larger group of people also wanted to participate in economic missions organized by PAIH (increase by 73%). However, thanks to the efforts of the Agency’s experts, the number of B2B meetings between Polish and foreign entrepreneurs has increased the most. Compared to last year, more than 230% more events were organised, the release said.
“In the first half of 2023, experts from the PAIH Export Department worked intensively to support the export and investment activity of Polish entrepreneurs, both in a virtual and stationary form. The offer was adapted to the needs of Polish business. We provided entrepreneurs with the most up-to-date information on foreign markets and organized numerous information and promotional events. Looking at the results for the last six months, we can see that our efforts have not been in vain,” said PAIH President Paweł Kurtasz, quoted in the material.
This year, PAIH employees responsible for export support served almost 5,000 Polish customers and over 1,400 foreign customers, providing them with over 16,000 support services.
The Agency’s experts helped interested entrepreneurs verify business partners and overcome language barriers, advised on the entire process of internationalization of operations and educated in the field of cultural codes and created analyzes of export potential. In addition to the already mentioned support services, numerous B2B talks were also organized for companies interested in the internationalization of their operations. Thanks to PAIH in the first half of this year. over 2,600 meetings of representatives of Polish companies with potential foreign contractors were held, concluded in the information.
PAIH is an advisory institution that is part of the Polish Development Fund Group (PFR), it is the first point of contact for exporters and investors. It also supports the inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) to Poland and the implementation of Polish investments in the country. It operates both in Poland and through foreign trade offices (ZBH).
