Orlen’s decision regarding the biodiesel installation in Kętrzyn for PLN 400-500 million – within about a year

Orlen’s decision on the construction of a biodiesel production installation in Kętrzyn should be made within about a year, announced President Daniel Obajtek. According to him, the cost of this investment may amount to PLN 400-500 million.

“The cost of a biodiesel installation will, of course, depend on the conditions at the time of making the decision, but it is assumed that an installation with a capacity of approx. tons per year, which would be built in Kętrzyn, would cost approximately PLN 400-500 million,” Obajtek told journalists.

According to him, a decision on this matter may be made within about a year.

Earlier today, Orlen announced that Orlen Południe had signed an agreement on the construction of an oil compressor station in Kętrzyn worth PLN 850 million, which will be built by 2026 and will process approx. tons of rapeseed per year and produce approx. 200 thousand tons of rapeseed oil for biodiesel production.

The PKN Orlen Group manages refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, conducts retail operations in Central Europe, mining operations in Poland, Norway, Canada and Pakistan, and is also engaged in energy production, including renewable energy sources and natural gas distribution.
