Clash of the titans: Orlen prepares for battle with InPost in parcel pick-up business

PKN Orlen is making an aggressive push into the parcel business. As part of Orlen Paczka, it will be possible to pick up at vending machines, traffic points and petrol stations – meaning more than 5,000 locations.

The international success of InPost encourages more companies to enter the parcel industry and invest in their own vending machines to collect and send them.

The company intends to build 500 such devices by the end of the year, and next year will have about 2,000 of them. In addition, the services of sending and collecting parcels are already provided by employees of Ruch points or petrol stations.

“Our Orlen Paczka service consists of two components. One is collection of parcels in special machines, the other is PUDO (Pick-Up and Drop-Off), i.e. special parcel collection points. As of September 1, as part of Orlen Paczka, there are already 4800 such points in Poland” – says Patrycja Klarecka, member of the management board of PKN Orlen for retail sales.

Orlen is currently focusing on establishing cooperation with e-stores.
