Netflix will open an engineering center in Poland working on global solutions

Shortly after the opening of the regional office, Netflix announced the construction of an engineering center planned for many months in Warsaw, the company said. To begin with, the service plans to hire dozens of engineers who will work in the Netflix regional office in Warsaw.

“The next step and investment on the Polish market is the creation of an engineering center. He will be responsible for developing products and services used by Netflix’s internal and external partners who produce and manage content on the service. The solutions that the team from Warsaw will be working on will enable the entire content production process, from idea to implementation and publication on the website, and provide new, innovative ways to manage entertainment on a global scale.

The decision to invest in Poland was made many months ago at the company’s headquarters in Los Gatos and was made by the management of the company’s technology team.

“We chose Poland because of the access to great specialists – Polish IT universities have an excellent reputation, and developers from Poland are valued experts, eagerly employed around the world. […] We look forward to this collaboration and believe that the new center will help us expand our global technology organization and bring even more innovation to the solutions we create,” said Engineering Vice President Deborah Black, quoted in the release.

Netflix is one of the world’s largest entertainment streaming services with 223 million paying subscribers in over 190 countries.
