Microsoft’s data processing region in Poland is expected to receive RISE with SAP certification in the near future. Once the certification process is complete, all companies that choose Microsoft Azure to run SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition can store their data and applications in Microsoft’s data processing region in Poland, announced President of Central Europe and Central Asia regions at Microsoft Michelle Simmons at the SAP NOW conference.
Microsoft and SAP are collaborating on cloud infrastructure. As Simmons pointed out, Microsoft has been operating in Poland for 30 years, and the cooperation with SAP on many levels has lasted just as long. The latest iteration of this relationship is the RISE with SAP certification of Microsoft’s data processing region in Poland.
As SAP Poland CEO Piotr Ferszka explained during a meeting with the media, the RISE with SAP cloud-based integrated enterprise management system will be able to be implemented using Microsoft Azure servers located in Poland. The certification process is crucial here, as SAP commits under RISE with SAP to a number of specific service delivery parameters, which also include infrastructure aspects.
“The RISE with SAP certification process of Microsoft’s data processing region in Poland will be completed soon. As a result, SAP customers will have a choice of two technology infrastructures (Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure) operating in Poland, depending on who they bet on as part of their digital transformation.” – Ferszka concluded.
In mid-2021, the Google Cloud region in Warsaw was certified for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition. From now on, all companies that choose Google Cloud to run SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition can store their data and applications in the cloud region created by Google Cloud in the Polish capital.
In addition, SAP announced a new version of RISE with the SAP premium plus package, equipped with artificial intelligence features to help companies innovate faster, make more informed decisions and achieve sustainability goals. The new premium packages offer more sustainability insights by embedding CO2 emissions and other resources into core business processes, calculating and sharing this data across the value chain, and incorporating rapidly evolving ESG reporting standards.
