Huta Stalowa Wola, a producer of artillery crabs and crampons, will produce license barrels for Leopard 2 tanks.
Investments worth over PLN 50 million from the last decade allowed HSW to launch the world’s most modern production of medium and large-caliber barrels for guns from 30 to 155 mm, as well as over 4.5 m long.
Poland is one of the world’s largest users of tanks from the Leo family and is modernizing their older version. The managing director of RWM Roman Koehne, handing over a 20-year barrel license to the armory from Podkarpacie, did not rule out orders and business cooperation.
The barrel revolution at HSW was made possible by many years of consistent investments in the reconstruction and modernization of specialized departments. – In order to make a technological leap in the company, it was necessary to spend at least PLN 3 million on taking over unique competences and learning a rare profession from the best – emphasizes Monika Koniecko, HSW spokesman.
