Konimpex extends rubber distribution deal with Sibur

Polish distributor Konimpex has extended a distribution agreement with Sibur, covering the supply of the Russian petrochemicals major’s nitrile-butadiene rubber.

The extension, for the next three years, “applies to distribution of NBR rubber in Poland, France and Turkey,” Konimpex said in a 28 April written statement to ERJ.

Under the deal, effective 1 Jan, Konimpex continues a partnership, which also includes the supply of Sibur SBS {styrene-butadiene block copolymers) in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

“This agreement will strengthen our relationship with such a solid partner Sibur,” Konimpex rubber department director Andrzej Brud commented in the statement.

“Cooperation with a strong partner will ensure Sibur’s presence in strategically important regions of Europe, which will boost further development of our company” added Sergey Krasnozhon, team leader at Sibur International in Vienna.

Sibur produces NBR standard, FC and NBR PVC rubber at a 42.5ktpa plant in Krasnoyarsk, Russia – as well as 326ktpa of SBR, BR, SSBR, and has 135ktpa SBS capacity at its Voronezh plant.

The Krasnoyarsk plant produces more than 20 grades of NBR rubber, for applications such as automotive, cable, hose, gaskets, seals and conveyor belts.
