KGHM initiates cooperation with the Romanian company Nuclearelectrica

KGHM Polska Miedź initiates cooperation with the Romanian nuclear energy company Nuclearelectrica, announced its president Marcin Chludziński.

“Romania is a country that has been developing SMR projects and has been using nuclear energy for 30 years. We are initiating cooperation with Nuclearelectrica, a meeting with Dan Dragos Dragan, Secretary of State for Energy, and a visit to the Cernawoda power plant, ”wrote Chludziński on his Twitter profile.

In February this year. KGHM Polska Miedź has signed an agreement with NuScale Power to start work on the implementation of advanced small modular reactors (SMR) in Poland. KGHM is counting on commissioning the first reactors by 2029.

KGHM Polska Miedź has a wide portfolio of exploration, development and production projects in Poland, Germany, Canada, Chile and the USA. The company has been listed on the WSE since 1997. In 2021, it had PLN 29.8 billion of consolidated revenues.
