Each type of coal produced by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW) is currently in demand on the market, said Robert Ostrowski, vice president of the company. JSW currently has inquiries regarding coal supplies from new customers, even from China, but there is practically no possibility of their implementation, and the energy sector also collects any amount of the raw material extracted, he added.
“The global battle for raw materials is currently underway and the company wants to benefit from it, no one knows how long the time of prosperity will last, whether and when the trade war between China and Australia will end. We need to prepare a strategy, update the adopted assumptions. Later this year we will start preparations to this “- said Ostrowski in the backstage of the meeting at the University of Economics in Katowice.
He reminded that in line with its strategy, JSW wants to ultimately produce approx. 85% of coking coal and 15% of thermal coal.
