JSW had PLN 903.7 million of net profit, PLN 2,482.5 million of EBITDA in 2021

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW) recorded PLN 903.7 million of consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company in 2021 compared to PLN 1,546 million loss a year earlier, the company said in the report.
The operating profit amounted to PLN 1,262.4 million compared to PLN 1,780.6 million loss a year earlier. EBITDA profit amounted to PLN 2,482.5 million, compared to PLN 675.7 million loss a year earlier.

Consolidated sales revenues amounted to PLN 10,629.1 million in 2021 compared to PLN 6,936 million a year earlier.

“Revenues from the sale of coal from external recipients in 2021 amounted to PLN 5,079.8 million, which means an increase by 42.9% compared to 2020. This increase is caused by the higher coal sales volume by 0.9 million tonnes, as well as the higher average selling price of coking coal by PLN 182.92 / t. In the reporting period, sales revenues in the Coke segment (without adjusting for sales revenues from the execution of hedging transactions) amounted to PLN 5,064.7 million, which means an increase by 66.2% compared to 2020. Higher revenues from sales of coke and hydrocarbons were mainly due to an increase in the average selling price of coke by PLN 488.72 / t, ie by 62.8%, ”reads the management's report.

The JSW Group is the largest producer of high-quality type 35 (hard) coking coal and a significant producer of coke in the European Union. The company has been listed on the WSE since 2011.
