InPost introduces a new parcel locker model in the first cities: Appkomat

From July, InPost is introducing a new type of machine for sending and receiving Appkomat InPost parcels in Krakow and Warsaw. This is a new model of a parcel locker, fully operated by a smartphone, the operator said.

“Appkomat InPost is the Paczkomaty of the future. All thanks to the new optimized and more ergonomic design of the device itself. It requires less electricity to function than the current traditional one. One of the significant changes that took place in the design was the abandonment of the large traditional screen, and the entire device is operated using the new version of the InPost Mobile application. Convenient, quick sending and receiving parcels, without the need to enter the phone number and parcel code on the screen, but only with 'one click' in the application. In addition, some of the machines will be equipped with photovoltaic panels and sensors that will allow you to check the air quality in the area ”- reads the release.

The first Appkomat InPost devices supported by a smartphone will be available in Warsaw and Krakow, and more will be successively appearing in other Polish cities, it was announced.

“Activities to improve the environment are one of the key pillars of InPost's operations and our sustainable development strategy. We are always looking for solutions that not only improve or modernize our services, but also contribute to reducing the negative impact of human activity on our planet. I am sure that the newly designed Appkomat InPost will initiate a new trend and set the direction of changes in logistics processes in e-commerce in the 21st century "- commented Rafał Brzoska, president and founder of InPost, quoted in the release.

InPost is a delivery platform for e-commerce. Established in 1999 by Rafał Brzoska in Poland, InPost has a network of parcel lockers in Poland, Great Britain and Italy, and also provides courier and fullfilment services for e-commerce sellers in Poland. In July 2021, he finalized the acquisition of the French company Mondial Relay. In January 2021, InPost made its debut on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange.
