Katowice Special Economic Zone breaks new record in 2021 investment

2021 turned out to be the best year in the 25-year history of the Katowice Special Economic Zone. The company attracted 102 investments, which is not only the best result of the KSEZ, but also a national record. New ventures are worth as much as PLN 5.35 billion, and thanks to them, 4470 jobs were created.

The largest investor in 2021 turned out to be the company Eko-Okna from Kornice near Racibórz, which decided to spend PLN 700 million on production plants in Wodzisław Śląski and Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The second largest investment was by Press Glass – the glass producer is building a new factory in Dąbrowa Górnicza for PLN 300 million.

  • Investors declared in 2021 investments with a record value of PLN 5.35 billion. In addition, a new investment of SK Hi-Tech Battery Materials Poland in Dąbrowa Górnicza – Tucznawa will be built in the Katowice Special Economic Zone, which will amount to approximately PLN 4 billion. Summing up the investment expenditure of the issued decisions on support and investments in the area of the KSEZ, the value of the projects amounts to almost PLN 9.7 billion – says Dr. Janusz Michałek, president of the Katowice SEZ.
