Grupa Azoty Polyolefins, a subsidiary of Grupa Azoty, concluded an agreement with Trafigura Pte Ltd of Singapore for the purchase of propane in the period December 2022 - December 2024 for an estimated USD 250 million, Azoty reported. Propane deliveries under this agreement will secure over 50% of the subsidiary's demand in 2023-2024 for this basic raw material for production, which will be carried out after the subsidiary launches the Polimery Police project. The Polimery Police project is one of the largest investments in the Polish and European chemical industry, which will enable the diversification of Grupa Azoty's business activities, and will positively affect Poland's position in the plastics segment and strengthen the country's energy and raw material independence, the company previously announced. In October, Grupa Azoty Polyolefins, which is implementing the Polimery Police project, announced the trade name Gryfilen for the polypropylene to be produced by the company. Grupa Azoty ranks second in the EU in the production of nitrogen and compound fertilizers, and products such as melamine, caprolactam, polyamide, OXO alcohols and titanium white also have a strong position in the chemical sector, being used in many industries. Its consolidated sales revenues reached PLN 15.9 billion in 2021. Source
