Eurocash: We are counting on a return to the sales dynamics from before the pandemic in 2022

Eurocash Group estimates that in Q1 this year confirmed the improvement in sales dynamics and is counting on maintaining the upward trend throughout the year; as a result, it expects that sales growth this year will be faster not only than last year, but also before the pandemic, Paweł Surówka, president of ISBnews, informed.
The group's sales increased by 12.3% y / y in the first quarter of 2022, with the market of small-format stores (according to Nielsen) growing by 5.4% y / y.

"Second half of last year. was clearly better than the first half. 2021, and the first quarter of this year. confirms this trend and we hope that it will develop in a similar way throughout the year. We also hope that not only will we show better results than in the previous year, but we will be able to respond positively and break the level we recorded before the pandemic, consistently building both sales and market share growth, "Surówka said in an interview with ISBnews.

In the entire last year, sales of the Eurocash Group increased by 3.5% y / y in 2021, while in the last year before the pandemic, i.e. in 2019, its increase amounted to 8.8% y / y.

At the same time, the President emphasized that the goal of the Eurocash Group is "a path of profitable growth".
