Energa Operator will install 471,000 remote reading counters

Energa Operator – a subsidiary of Energa from the PKN Orlen Group – resolved the procurement procedure for the supply of 471,000 remote reading meters, Energa said. Remote measurement is currently used by over 1.4 million customers connected to the energy network managed by Energa Operator. The assembly of the meters will start in 2022.

The new measurement systems will be delivered by two suppliers – Apator and Sagemcom Poland, who continue their cooperation with Energa Operator, it was announced. The total number of devices contracted under the latest contracts is nearly 471,000 meters and 25,000 replacement communication modems.

“Remote metering is an integral part of smart energy grids. It is also an important pillar of the energy transformation, without which it will not be fully possible to implement new solutions, such as increasing the flexibility of the network. Energa Operator attaches great importance to the efficient implementation of smart meters. Almost half of the recipients connected to our network already use them, and in the coming years we plan to install intelligent metering devices at all our clients.” said Krzysztof Bortkiewicz, vice president of Energa Operator, quoted in the release.

The new meters, which will soon be delivered to Energa Operator’s customers, are two-way meters, also adapted to the needs of prosumers using renewable energy micro-installations, emphasized.
