EDP Energia Polska – part of the EDP Group – has acquired Soon Energy Poland, the company said. In addition to the acquisitions, EDP Energia Polska is planning intensive organic growth. The company has a plan to be among the top three largest players on the photovoltaic market in Poland. Soon Energy Poland has installed installations in Poland with a total capacity exceeding 25 MWp. In 2021, the company saw significant growth by installing 10 MWp of photovoltaic capacity, underlined.

Solar energy will play a decisive role in this transformation, while reducing costs for businesses and households. We are committed to the development of the Polish economy and we believe that this acquisition is an important step towards the further development of our group, ”said Vera Pinto Pereira, member of the management board of the EDP Group, quoted in the press release.

EDP Energia Polska has been operating on the Polish energy market since 2020 and is a member of the EDP Group. The company provides business clients with energy and photovoltaic solutions. The EDP Group itself has been operating on the Polish market since 2007 through EDP Renewables Polska, developing large wind and solar farm projects.
The EDP Group is a global energy company present on 28 markets, being the 4th largest producer of wind energy in the world. The total installed capacity of EDP in distributed energy is about 800 MWp. By 2025, the group intends to contract with individual and business customers the construction of photovoltaic installations with a total capacity exceeding 2 GW.
