CVI finalizes the first institutional private debt fund focused on Central Europe

CVI Dom Maklerski ("CVI"), a leading private debt fund manager based in Poland and operating in Central Europe, is pleased to announce the completion of the fundraising of its first closed-end fund focused on institutional investors, CVI CEE Private Debt Fund (the "Fund") on EUR 132 million.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ("EBRD"), together with several institutional investors and the Polish family office, completed the group of investors as part of the final closure of the Fund. In total, the Fund attracted investors from eight European countries, including the European Investment Fund, EBRD, PFR Ventures, as well as pension funds, an insurance company, several family offices and the CVI team.

By the end of October, the Fund has already made 23 investments worth EUR 70 million. The companies financed come from a wide variety of industries, including yacht building, tourism, automotive, e-commerce, renewable energy, energy services, wellness, rail freight, pharmaceuticals and construction. The fund intends to implement over 40 investments throughout Central Europe, including Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Baltic States, Romania and Hungary.

Elisabetta Falcetti, EBRD, Director, Regional Head Central Europe: “With the investment in the CVI CEE Private Debt Fund, the EBRD is strengthening its mission to improve local capital markets by offering specialized products for SMEs for which there are currently no offers. This involvement will also allow the EBRD to support an independent and experienced team with a strong track record and will help improve the overall competitiveness of the private sector in the CEE region.”
