Ciech Sarzyna increased its share in the plant protection chemicals market to 7,8%

Ciech Sarzyna - a subsidiary of Ciech - recorded a nearly 40% increase in sales on the Polish market in 2021, which translated into an increase in market share to 7.8% compared to 6.1% in 2020, Ciech reported.
In recent years, the share of Ciech Sarzyna in the Polish market of plant protection chemicals has been systematically growing - at the end of 2021 it reached the level of 7.8% (an increase by 1.7 percentage points). Sales of Ciech Sarzyna increased by nearly 40% compared to 2020, and the value of the entire market in Poland increased by less than 9% during this time, underlined.

“The year 2021 was very successful for us in terms of sales in Poland. The enormous amount of work put into improving business processes, digitizing and developing the product portfolio - in order to create comprehensive crop protection programs, has brought tangible results. We are very pleased with the diversification of the product portfolio and strong, double-digit sales increases in the area of ​​grain fungicides and growth regulators. We are not slowing down, in 2022 we plan to enter the market with new products in the fungicide segment, which is the result of cooperation with our Spanish company Proplan "- said the president of Ciech Sarzyna and the head of Agro business at the Ciech Group, Wojciech Babski, quoted in the release.


The Ciech Group is one of the leaders of the European chemical market. It is the second largest producer of soda ash (used in the production of glass) in Europe and the only producer of this substance in Poland. Since 2005, Ciech has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Its consolidated revenues amounted to PLN 2.98 billion in 2020.
