Stockholm-listed gaming operator Cherry has been granted a sports betting licence by Poland’s Ministry of Finance.
Cherry Online Polska becomes the ninth operator to be licensed in the market and the the second company to receive a licence under the country’s new gambling regulations, which came into force at the start of the year.
“We are proud to be the one of the first companies that were granted the licence,” said Patryk Włodarski, business consultant for Cherry. “Poland is a fully regulated market and since the 2017 amendment to the gambling bill, it became our priority to obtain a licence, allowing us to offer our services online in full respect to the current laws.
“Now with a company in Warsaw holding a licence, Cherry is in position to introduce its first online sportsbook brand to the Polish customers very soon.”
Cherry will be operating in the market alongside the likes of Fortuna, Milenium, Star-Typ Sport, TOTOLOTEK, E-TOTO, forBET, LV BET, and Totalbet.
