In the area of the former Huta Bobrek in Bytom, the Investment Development and Professional Activation Zone will be established. The advantage of the Bytom Zone in the fight for investors will be cheap electricity and heat supplied from the modernized MMG coking plant. The initiators emphasize that this is a unique solution in Europe and the world.
The letter of intent regarding the establishment of the zone was signed on June 30 by Mariusz Wołosz, the president of Bytom, and Rafał Szostok, the president of MMG Sp. z o.o.
The total potential of the zone is as much as 150,000 sqm land stretching from ul. Konstytucji towards DK 88, of which 100 thousand. sqm is the property of MMG and cooperating entities, and 50,000 sqm belongs to the city. After site preparation, incl. supply of electricity and heat generated in MMG from coke oven gas, the area will be divided into plots and sold to investors on similar terms as in the case of the land included in the Katowice Special Economic Zone.
