Another presentation at Warsaw Stock Exchange Innovation Day was by CD Projekt, which is beginning work on 2 premium games at the same time. It also unveiled etails of the new mobile version of The Witcher.
President Adam Kiciński wants to develop the studio, but does not rule out acquisitions.
- We are strengthening our technological team. incl. by expanding the Vancouver unit. Vancouver is a very good base for us in this respect. We are at the end of taking over this studio, said the president of CD Projekt, Adam Kiciński.
Will there be more acquisitions? CD Projekt does not exclude the possibility of acquisitions, but at the same time focuses on the natural development of its own studio.
- We have opened up more to the possibility of acquisitions. They are potentially possible. However, we would rather focus not on subjects to combine turns, but rather on creative possibilities. Therefore, we look at potential acquisitions through the prism of how a given team fits our corporate culture – said the president during the presentation at the Warsaw Stock Exchange Innovation Day.
He emphasized that CD Projekt has organic growth “embedded in its DNA” and hence the approach to potential acquisitions.
The company’s management board prefers to talk about planned projects. CD Projekt announced in the strategy that it will be working on two premium games at the same time.
- This is our debut on the market of mobile games using augmented reality technology. After the first soft launches, we can say that we are very pleased with them. The debut is planned for the summer of this year, informed Piotr Nielubowicz, vice-president for finance. With “Cyberpunk 2077” we are constantly working on improvements and DLC as well as preparing the game for the new console. As for “The Witcher: Monster Slayer” and microtransactions, it will be possible, but we have not announced yet what type of micropayments it will be – he said.
