BioCam is a medical company that designs, builds and implements medical electronic devices. Its latest project is a system for remote, precise and painless capsule endoscopy. The startup has just acquired PLN 2 million.
First, BioCam convinced the LT Capital fund, then acquired a "bridging" round from a private investor from Poland, and now Dawid Urban, known from the co-founder of Grupa CHIC and LESS_, has joined its group of investors. He recapitalized the company with the amount of PLN 2 million.

- This is a typical angel round for me, preceding the A round and at the same time one of the most interesting investments in my portfolio. I see enormous potential in it to revolutionize and improve the field of medicine, which concerns an increasing number of people, at an increasingly younger age. I will observe the further development of the company and I believe that if it develops as well as it has so far, it will soon be on the radar of the largest investors from the medtech sector - says Dawid Urban.

A few months earlier, BioCam received a grant of PLN 5 million under the "Coronaviruses" Fast Track for the implementation of the telemedicine platform project for contact-free and remote diagnosis of the digestive system (also in pandemic conditions). In total, since the company's establishment in 2019, the financing obtained from outside has approached PLN 9 million.

This year, the Wrocław startup intends to continue the work from 2021 and get closer to obtaining CE and FDA medical certification. He also talks with many national and foreign medical institutions and clinics, as well as industry corporations in order to conduct pilot studies on a group of several hundred patients. In the next 2 years, BioCam plans to sign the first technology licensing agreements (talks with the first international company are advanced) and intends to develop new capsule functionalities. According to the assumptions of the management board, BioCam should be profitable already in 2025.
