The value of acquisitions made by private equity funds in Poland fell by about 20 percent y/y to €2 billion in 2018. However, the activity of funds has not decreased and the number of acquisitions remained at a similar level as a year earlier, according to Jacek Poświata, partner and managing director of Bain & Company Poland/CEE.
“The number of transactions on the Polish market for several years has remained at around 40. The market is still shallow and one large operation can significantly affect the total value in a given year,” he said.
No large transaction above €1 billion was recorded in Poland last year.
