Alvise Favara and David Roberts have been appointed as members of the Management Board of Allegro.pl sp.z o.o. – an indirect subsidiary wholly owned by Allegro.eu – with effect from March 1, 2022, Allegro reported. The newly appointed people have knowledge and experience that correspond to Allegro’s international expansion plans, underlined.
Alvise Favara joined Allegro from Amazon Germany where he led the Consumables segment. Prior to this position, he led Amazon’s pan-European operational processes, including inventory management and pricing, returns, inventory and supplier policies. He was also a partner at McKinsey and a research fellow at the University of Florence, including a research position at CERN and CalTech, according to the material.
David Roberts joined Allegro after four years at Zalando, where he was responsible for strategic issues including company vision, process design, team scaling, and platform development. He led a team of professionals responsible for many business areas, such as: product management, engineering, integration, operations, supply chain management and other strategic teams, creating tools to support sellers or extending the offer. Prior to joining Zalando, David worked at Amazon’s US division in Engineering & Product Leadership, and previously led the engineering team at AOL with projects in India and China, indicated also.
Allegro is the number 1 trading platform in Poland. Sales are mainly carried out by companies via the e-commerce platform Allegro.pl. From October 2016, Allegro belongs to the funds of Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa. The company made its debut on the WSE in October 2020.
