“In 2021, the effects of the pandemic were still felt, stimulating exceptional volatility in global financial markets. The factors that contributed to the increase in optimism among domestic investors were certainly both economic data showing that the Polish and global economy are recovering from the crisis, as well as the decline in unemployment and an increase in consumer spending. This trend is confirmed by the increase in the number of investment accounts by nearly 45 thousand. (+ 3.4% y / y) and a significant share of individual investors in turnover, which amounted to 22% in equity trading on the main market and 88% in equity trading on NewConnect. All this contributed to the improvement of financial results and an increase in the capitalization of domestic companies listed on both stock exchanges of the WSE. In the case of the Main Market, their value increased by as much as 30% y / y, to the level of PLN 701 billion, and turnover by almost 6.4% y / y and amounted to nearly PLN 331 billion, ”wrote CEO Marek Dietl in a letter to shareholders.
