Zalando to build logistics center on 30 hectares in Bydgoszcz, starting in next months. Panattoni is the main contractor.
The Department of Integrated Development of the Bydgoszcz City Hall informed – this is a procedure specified by law – about issuing an environmental decision for the construction of a “distribution center with accompanying infrastructure” at Hutnicza Street in Bydgoszcz. Zalando Lounge Logistics Polska is behind the investment.
A similar distribution center will be built faster, already in August this year in Poznań. There Zalando cooperates with the Panattoni company (strongly involved in the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park) and DHL. The information on employment sounds promising, in Poznań, jobs at Zalando Lounge Logistics Polska are to be found by approximately 800 people, the company’s declarations regarding employment in our city are not known yet.
- Negotiations are underway with Zalando Lounge Logistics Polska regarding an investment on a large plot of approximately 30 hectares between the coal main and Hutnicza Street. The investor plans to build a logistics center there. Last year, the local spatial development plan “Hutnicza II” was adopted for this area. It also allows the construction of high-bay warehouses from the side of the coal main – the town hall informed at the time.
The issuance of the environmental decision opens the possibility of starting the procedure for applying for a building permit. According to the company’s announcement, the construction of three more European logistics centers (next to our city, the company is also investing in France and Germany) is to start within the next twelve months.
The area to be taken by Zalando has been put up for sale by the Municipal Waterworks and Sewerage, which have other available and reclaimed space available for investors in this part of the city.
