Shell is doubling-down on Krakow. This global concern will implement two new projects as part of the existing business operations center in Krakow – Shell Business Operations (SBO) Krakow.
The investment will be completed thanks to the support of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH). At least another 400 jobs will be created.
Two new departments will be created as part of the expansion of Shell Business Operations in Kraków. The first is advanced business services with planned employment of at least 250 employees who will ultimately deal with processes in the areas of IT, Data Quality, reporting and analysis, communication and tax operations. The second will deal with the perfection of business processes. As part of it, 150 new jobs will be created. This department will support the areas operating within the SBO, such as customer service, logistics, lubricant supply, HR and IT. Shell announced that both investments are already underway.
Shell Business Operations has been operating in Krakow since 2006 and supports Shell operations around the world, incl. in the field of finance, purchases, logistics, customer service, communication and external relations, support for the operation of petrol stations and IT. The center in Krakow is one of the largest centers of modern business services in Poland. Shell currently employs over 4400 people in Krakow and is thus one of the largest employers in Kraków and Małopolska.
Shell is currently the largest fuel company in the world. It has been operating in Poland since 1992 and is the fourth largest operator of petrol stations – at the end of 2020, the company managed a network of 423 stations.
